Children's Immunization
Under the Day Nurseries Act children who attend the Head Start must have up to date immunization. As part of the registration process and before admission into the program, the child must be immunized as recommended by the City of Ottawa.  During registration, parents will complete the immunization form for their child.  These are sent to the City of Ottawa and if a child is missing a required dose, the parents and the Head Start will be notified.  The child must get the missing dose as soon as possible or may not be able to attend the program.

Tuberculosis (TB) Testing: A Mantoux skin test is required before school entry for students who have lived or traveled in parts of the world with high TB rates. This includes Inuit communities where the rates of TB have been high.

Parents who refuse to immunize their children based on religion or conscience must complete and sign an exemption form.
