Seeing The Light Conference
The Seeing The Light series of conferences are meant to share our incredible community’s knowledge with front-line service providers including teachers, police and emergency services, social workers, foster/adoptive parents, hospital staff, and anyone interested in learning about Inuit history and culture, and wanting to provide culturally-safe services.
Our first Seeing The Light conference took place on Wednesday, June 1, 2016: “Inuit Cultural Education for Service Providers: Inuit Parenting, Education, Historical Trauma, Communication and Language.
The second conference was held on Friday, November 4, 2016, called “Inuit Cultural Education for School Professionals: Through the Voices of Inuit Students and Parents”.
The third conference was held on Tuesday, May 9, 2017, called “Inuit Cultural Education for Service Providers”.
All these conferences have been well received.
Stay tuned for our next Seeing The Light Conference in the Fall 2017. From 9:00 am to 4 pm at the Vanier Richelieu Community Centre, 300 Pères-Blancs Ave. Follow the link below to download a Registration Form.
